Our Story

Abundant Spring began with a simple belief: everyone deserves to age with dignity, comfort, and meaningful connection – in the place they call home.

Founded by Rachel Quek, a registered nurse with over 18 years of experience across Singapore’s healthcare and community care sectors, Abundant Spring stems from her passion for eldercare, dementia care, and wound management.

Her Professional Journey

Rachel Quek began her nursing career in the geriatric ward at Tan Tock Seng Hospital before moving on to be involved in the setup of a specialist clinic at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre, private nursing homes, and Build-Own-Lease (BOL) long-term care facilities. She has provided clinical supervision and training, led nursing home operations and care staff, and driven quality improvement initiatives in partnership with the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC). Her dedication to dementia care grew further during her time with Dementia Singapore and through her personal experience supporting a loved one with mixed dementia – shaping her belief in compassionate, person-centred care.

Holding a Nursing Degree from Curtin University (Singapore) and an Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA), Rachel combines clinical expertise with professional education. Her leadership also spans nursing policy development, competency building, and care model alignment with national standards across the nursing homes she has served.

Birth of Abundant Spring

Across her years in acute hospital, community nursing, dementia services, and eldercare, she met many families who were doing their best for their loved ones, yet felt overwhelmed, or unsure of how to navigate the next step. She saw seniors who blossomed with the right kind of support and others who withdrew when care became rushed, task-focused, or impersonal.

She realised two things:

  1. Families need reliable, personalised home support they can trust.
  2. Seniors thrive when engagement is meaningful, not merely task-based.

And so, Abundant Spring was established – a service dedicated to empowering clients and caregivers, supporting ageing in place, and strengthening community-based care for those facing dementia, aging, and physical challenges.

Our Team

The Abundant Spring team is made up of dedicated local Care Associates, each trained and experienced in dementia care. Our Care Associates share a genuine passion for connecting with seniors and their families, offering not only compassionate care but also companionship, patience, and understanding.

Together, our goal is also to be a bridge of trust and supporthelping families navigate important conversations such as Advance Care Planning (ACP) and Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) with your loved ones, and connecting them to community support services, ensuring continuity, safety, and meaning in their everyday lives.
